Textured Abstract Landscapes
My work is multi layered, colourful, and complex.
I've developed a process I call glazed acrylic through years of experimentation and adventuring with mediums and glazes.
Each work tells stories of the land, through pattern, shape and texture, I feel an urgent call to record the beauty and stories I see in the undulating landscapes before it's too late.

Art Instruction
Though I'd taught for many years, in 2011 I became certified as an artist educator.
Since then, I have been presenting art based programming in long term care, with an emphasis on Dementia, Alzheimer's and special needs programming. Programs are sensory, stimulating, age appropriate, seasonally relevant, and use a multitude of modalities.
From my studio I teach both adults and kids in private and semi private classes. We explore a variety of media, and art styles, often studying an artist and their work, then trying our hand at that artist’s style. We have fearlessly tackled printmaking, assemblage, sculpture, collage, papermaking, intarsia, and so on, plus many many styles of painting.
I emphasize creative problem solving, along with basic skills in composition, colour mixing, value study and line management. Most of all we have fun.
I also teach workshops, and do art pARTys.
